Rolex has made several dials under one single model number, and these variations discussed aim to educate a collector of their scarcity, and perhaps your next shopping experience.
Rolex Sea-Dweller Model Ref 1665 (White Versions)
Type 1:
– First white dial
– Same Layout as DRSD
– “ft” and “m” are small and upright
– “6” is open
– “SWISS – T <25”
Type 2:
– Same manufacturer as Comex 600m dial
– Layout and font similar to COMEX 600m dial
– Foot of “ft” stands above the “I” of “SUPERLATIVE”!
– The “t” in “ft” has an upswing
– “ft” and “m” are small and italic
– “6” is NOT open
– “T SWISS T<25”
– Rail dial!
Type 3:
– Standard dial since approx. 1980
– also replacement dial

– “ft” and “m” are big and italic
– Foot of “ft” stands above the “E” of “SUPERLATIVE”!

Type 4:
